Local singer-songwriter Iona MacDonald opens the evening.\nChiara always knew she wanted to be a songwriter but didn’t manage to convince her school guidance teacher.\nShe left her job as a doctor to follow her passion and self-released her first album at the tender age of 42.\nHer songs are an evocative collision of her piano-led love of harmony and fiercely honest lyrics and have been featured on Radio Scotland’s Afternoon Show as Single Of The Week.\nChiara’s latest album, Archaeology, represents the discovery of her buried creativity after leaving her medical job for good.\nSlow in the making due to her having Long Covid, there has been a gentle maturing of the songs and the result is …’captivating’… Fatea Magazine\nIona MacDonald, who opens the show, is one half of the acclaimed Scottish duo, Doghouse Roses.\nFormed almost 20 years ago with guitarist Paul Tasker, the duo regularly tour across UK and Europe.
