SUMMARY:Fittie Film Night
DESCRIPTION:Friday 28 November 2025\nFittie Community Hall \nNew Pier Road, Aberdeen, AB11 5DR\nDoors 6.30pm, Film Starts 7pm\nUtama (no cert, 12A recommended) \nAn elderly Quechua couple live a tranquil life in the arid Bolivian highlands. While Virginio takes their small herd of llamas out to graze, Sisa keeps house and walks for miles with other local women to fetch precious water. When an uncommonly long drought threatens everything they know, they must decide whether to stay and maintain their traditional way of life or admit defeat and move in with family members in the city.\nTheir dilemma is precipitated by the arrival of their grandson Clever, who comes to visit with news. The three of them must face, each in their own way, the effects of a changing environment, the importance of tradition, and the meaning of life itself. This visually jaw-dropping film won the Grand Jury Prize (World Cinema Dramatic) at the Sundance Film Festival.\n \nThis screening is part of the Our Shared Futures: Climate & Migration Community Film Festival 2025 – a free, community-powered festival that brings together stories of climate, displacement, resilience, and hope.\n \nThis festival is curated and produced by Counterpoints Arts in partnership with Earth Refuge, CMJ (Climate & Migrant Justice Organising Group), and City of Sanctuary UK.\n \nThe festival coincides with COP30 in Brazil.\n \nThis screening is free to attend. No booking required.\n \nLink to the film trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9Hv7HFDIOc ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9Hv7HFDIOc )\nLink to the news item on the Open Road website: https://www.openroadltd.com/2025/10/our-shared-futures-film-night-utama/ ( https://www.openroadltd.com/2025/10/our-shared-futures-film-night-utama/ )\n
