THE RED TILE PROJECT – OPENING NIGHT!
We are delighted to welcome the Red Tile Project exhibition to Fittie Hall.
Opening Night: Friday 27th March, 6pm – 9pm. All welcome!
The exhibition will then be open daily from Saturday 28th March to Sunday 5th April, 11am – 4pm. Entry is free.
Red Tile Project is a contemporary art exhibition that aims to serve as a backdrop to dialogues and reflection about how we (individually and collectively) shape the image of Aberdeen – in its past, present, and of its future.
Stories and stereotypes can outlast buildings. The character of a city can be shaped, forgotten and found again – by its dwellers, visitors, or even those who have only heard of it.
The exhibition seeks to resurface, through reinterpretation, what might have been the city’s transient material past. Something the viewers may recognise, contest, and hopefully contribute to.
The exhibition is organised by Esther, an Aberdeen-based contemporary artist and her partner Anu.
Esther will also be running clay workshops for anyone interested in having a more hands-on experience and making their own clay tiles. And to be a part of the discussion around the theme and learn more about the exhibition. These will be popular so we recommend booking spaces as soon as possible.
Reserve your workshop space here (only £20 per session!)
Saturday 21st March – 1pm – 3pm;
Saturday 11th April – 1pm – 3pm;
Saturday 2nd May – 1pm – 3pm.
