Collected from the printers today, this calendar is produced by Fittie folk, for Fittie folk, family and friends, near and far.

All photographs have been taken by locals who generously contributed their photos to the project.

All monies, after printing costs, go towards Phase 2 of the renovation of Fittie Community Hall.

Introducing the second of our Fittie yoga teachers!

Sally Griffith took the Monday evening class through a beautifully presented, focused and challenging Vinyasa flow…

Our super fit and experienced yogis were satisfied and gentle alternatives were offered for those whose practice is ‘rusty’.

Both of our classes are full at the moment, but those on the ‘interested’ list will be contacted if spaces become available.

Fittie’s first yoga session!

Thanks to Dr Lucy Stroud for planning a gentle, relaxing and restorative Hatha yoga session for Fittie residents this morning.

Our first ever yoga session in the Hall was enjoyed by participants of all ages and Lucy tailored the session to accommodate all, from beginners to experienced yogis.

It’s such a joy to see the Hall being used in a positive, inclusive and life-affirming way.

Just giving the ‘heads up’ that yoga classes will be starting soon in our Community Hall.

Yoga is for all ages and levels of physical ability. We are talking with two qualified and experienced teachers who are able to offer everything from restorative, gentle practice for absolute beginners to developing the practice of advanced yogis.

Because of the Trust’s ‘Community Grant’ from Big Lottery, we can offer classes free of charge for Fittie residents. Friends and family from out with the village may offer a donation.If interested, please mail Pauline at ‘’ and you’ll be given more info once we have some.

An invitation to afternoon tea!

Following the relaxation of Covid restrictions down to Level 2, we can now open our doors to limited numbers of people!

To celebrate, we are hosting a small, complimentary afternoon tea in the Hall for Fittie residents, on June 5th.

To be able to accommodate as many as we can in our tiny Hall, while respecting the ongoing need for social distancing, we willhave planned for a ‘first sitting’ (2-3pm) and a ‘second sitting’ (3.30-4.30pm).

Folks will enter through our lovely new front door and exit through the back, into our beautiful community garden.Stalls selling garden plants, jams and Fittie merchandise will be there, if you wish to purchase anything. (All monies go towards Phase 2 of Hall renovation)

Funded Creative Community Worker Positions

As previously announced, Open Road, in partnership with the Fittie Community Development Trust, was selected to be part of Culture Collective.

With the aim of addressing the impacts of COVID-19 and wider social, economic and environmental influences on community and city, this project will contract three Creative Community Workers.

Post One: The Fittie Community
This post will create a programme of creative initiatives and participatory events to bring
the Hall and community connections back to life.
Post Two: Visitors and Migration
This post will further a project focusing on stories of migration in Aberdeen, linking with
visitors, other harbourside communities and Aberdeen Harbour.
Post Three: Climate Ready Community
This post will focus on the impacts of climate change for coastal communities and the
transition to net-zero carbon emissions, including community owned energy.
